In both cases the epub version worked fine in Calibre on my PC, but the epub wouldn't open on the nook, it just went back to library view after a couple of seconds. My fix was to convert them to mobi format, delete the epub versions, then convert the mobi versions back to epub. When I uploaded them to the Nook again they were fine, and I now have no problem. I've tried shorter stories (e.g. my own The Return) and they're OK, so I think the problem is length related. Not a biggie, I solved it in about ten minutes once I realised they wouldn't open, but maybe the settings used for this could be tweaked in some way to make things work better? Marcus L.
