Coming along nicely - I doubt that anyone is going to be stupid enough to try kidnapping / assassination at the party so I wonder what the plan is.

Nice parts.  Very nice cliffhanger. I do so hope these are really smart villains with the blind spot of thinking threats and intimidation work with everyone. 

Clark is a lot older than the idiot in the L&C 'Verse who let Jason Mazik and Lois talk him in to doing something really stupid.
