Um, not last time I checked.  I really can't even claim to be completely up to date with DC comic canon, post-crisis.  In order of priority, canon for this story has been (1) The three films (S:TM, S:II (Donner cut) and SR); (2) the SR prequel comics; (3) the SR novelization; (4) the silver age Superman comics.  I also taken dramatic license with some of it and tossed overboard anything that failed the realism test.

I'm truly complimented by this reaction, though I must confess, I'm not entirely certain what provoked it.  Thanks, though.

Interesting part.
Quote:
Is Superman going to fix everything now that he’s awake?

Quote:
Superman should have everything back to normal in no time!” Jimmy concluded cheerfully.

All the more reason he should not use his Society's tech to help.

A dead Society's rules won't matter to anyone, once he opens the doors it's like being a little bit pregnant.

Quote:
replicate their products and beam them down to fix the broken stuff.”

May I suggest you add some major flaw in their replicator technology? Like a very high demand for raw materials and even  higher demand for power?  Something to make it's general use prohibitively expensive.  And please consider a size limit.

Something, anything to make it useless without several more decades of research and development.

Clark needs to make it clear that the technology does not CREATE something out of nothing but needs all the raw materials and a huge amount of power.

Hopefully, you'll be relieved to know that I was never intending this as Deux ex machina to tie things up.  I've strived for realism in this story, including realistically accounting for the likely aftereffects of a powerful EMP and major earthquake on the Eastern Seaboard.  That kind of damage would take years to recover from under normal circumstances, and would be financially devastating, both to those in the disaster zone and the rest of the country as a whole.

From my perspective, realism also means that Superman would use every means at his disposal to mitigate that damage, including the use of his technology.  The ability of Luthor to use stolen technology to grow his continent proves its viability.  Certainly the combined knowledge of twenty-eight galaxies would have something useful.  I've tried to avoid going over the top with the K-Tech, but as far as I'm concerned, the tech exists and is available, though it won't be able to do the job overnight, and it won't fix everything.

I do appreciate your comments, and your points are duly noted.  Thanks.
