	Delightful part, ended much too soon. I loved the way Sam debriefed Lt.Daniels. I rather imagine Lt. Daniels will soon become one of Sam's inner circle till Sam retires. Loved the line about the back child support. Clark needs to release a bestselling book. The one that has shown up in a few tales, Superman's Heroes, should sell well and fit in nicely with your story. I loved the bit about the yellow marked sections of the newspaper. Also enjoyed seeing him protective of his daughter.

	OMG, I loved it! I have been completely enamored of Gen. Sam Lane since he first appeared on Smallville in season 4. I LOVE Michael Ironside. He will forever be Gen. Lane to me. The way you wrote this chapter, I could just completely picture it. I can't wait to see what happens next.

I don't recall when I was first introduced to the General, but he's a great character and brings a lot to Lois' background and psychology. Whenever I think of Sam Lane, I always imagine him in uniform. Thanks for the comments.
