I've never liked it when military personnel (or police for that matter) are portrayed as brutes or dolts. The vast majority of our armed services are well-intentioned and intelligent - and the people selected for special training or promotion to high rank are very well trained, well educated and dedicated to their mission - protecting this country and its people. The bad apples are almost exclusively found in fiction. I had the privilege of knowing some Navy aviators way back when and they were some of the brightest and sweetest people you would ever want to meet. Climbing off soapbox now. Those who say it can't be done should get out of the way of those who are doing it. WWW IP Logged

The military friends I knew there were great, and never hesitated to help out anyone who needed it. WWW YIM IP Logged

Neither group are the dolts most portray them to be. The "bad apples", I've found, are more often in the Intelligence community than the Armed Forces, at least in my personal experience. IP Logged
