And there they go again, putting the Midas touch on yet another story and taking down another major criminal in the process, Perry thought. Luthor doesn’t stand a chance... Delightful tale. There were also ruby red and charcoal black varieties recovered in small quantities and identified as other unbiexium isotopes – three twenty-two and three forty-six, respectively. There is also still the possibility that there were other varieties in that meteor shower that haven’t been recovered yet, given the terrain and populations across the region where they came down. So we can actually hope to see other varieties than green (since you already mentioned them) in your awesome story? IP Logged

We'll have to wait and see, I suppose, though I had a higher purpose in the explanation here. I don't believe that suspension of disbelief should be a challenge, so on occasion I try to present the science behind things to make it more credible, as I've now done with Kryptonite. Personally, I see Kryptonite as being more of a radioactive compound containing Unbihexium as the active ingredient, as opposed to the element (or series of related isotopes) all by itself. It was identified in SR as "sodium lithium boron silicate hydroxide with fluorine" (the Flourine presumably being the part that gives it the crystalline green appearance) and in S3 as "Plutonium (15.08%), Tantalium (18.06%), Xenon (27.70%), Promethium (24.02%), Dialium (10.62%), Mercury (3.94%) and UNKNOWN (0.57%)", with the "unknown" probably being Unbihexium, replaced with tar in the synthetic version in S3. But that is MY outlook on it (the SR composition plus 0.57% Unbihexium), and thus not canon. Yours works, too, I'm just saying I see it differently. The alternate kryptonites are an intriguing idea, taking elements from the old silver-age comics (the white kryptonite) and mixing with the movieverse... Synthetic Kryptonite? White? and red.. red, eek! I hope he doesn't come across any of that variety! Very very cool including stuff from the comics. I'm excited for the next chapter, as always WWW IP Logged

Synthetic Kryptonite? The idea here is that all kryptonite is synthetic, or rather the result of radioactive decay of the synthetic crystal construction of Krypton when it's exposed to the intense radiation and heat of a nova. This was my psuedo-science explanation for its existence. I was trying to be as thorough as possible in the explanation, which included allowing for other varieties. jj_the_elusive wrote on Jan 16th, 2009 at 3:47am: White? and red.. red, eek!
